I cannot get enough sleep last night. And I do not even know why. I'm tired, exhausted. But my eyes seem to be excited. I just get around three to four hours of sleep before sahur. I woke up, get into the shower and prepared to eat. Then, I performed my prayer and wore my clothes. But when I saw my sister fall back to sleep I get angry. She knew that I want to go out early in the morning today. Because it is a weekday and I really want to avoid any jam on the road. But she still in her own timeline. I cannot get angry because it is Ramadan. You got lucky this time, sis. My supervisor postponed our meeting about the effect of ferricyanide solution and pre-treatment steps tomorrow. Thanks to her, I may get enough rest after I get back from Perak. I slept after Zohor prayer till Asar. Now, just got the laptop and wrote my journal for today. My telekung has been missing for a month and I do not know who is taking it. Accidentally or not. I love that telekung. My dad gave it to me during my birthday.
Today, I read about Jalut and Talut's story. After the death of Prophet Moses, Bani Israel became weak and faced many losses from neighboring enemies. But a generation came up that wanted to do the right thing and asked Prophet Samuel to assist them. They requested him to pray to Allah to send a king under whom they could become strong again. Allah had chosen Talut to be their King. However, he was not from the tribe of Levi or from the tribe of Prophet Yusuf, the two tribes from which the Prophets and Kings of Banu Israel came from. Talut was from the tribe of Benyamin. The Banu Israel initially protested at his appointment, lacking respect for Talut due to his lack of wealth. The prophet then told them that Talut was more favored than they were. He was distinguished from the rest by his great knowledge and by his physique. A sign of his rightful role as king was that Allah had brought back the Ark of the Covenant to Israel for the Israelites. Talut tested his people at a river, whoever drank from it would not follow him in battle excepting one who took from it a handful. Many of them drank, but only the faithful ventured on. Talut warned his soldiers not to drink a lot for fear they would become weak and unable to fight against the enemy. Rasulullah saw said, "The thing that I fear for my people is a big stomach, a lot of sleep, laziness and weak confidence". He was worried when his people were too full because it could make them lazy to jihad. Talut then led the Israelites to victory over the army of Jalut, who was killed by Prophet David. Talut is not considered to be a prophet of Allah, but rather a divinely-appointed king.
It is almost the time to break the fast, but no one here except my parents and me. my sister and brother said that they want to break their fast together for today, but I guess, we cannot always trust people. Well, it is 07.10 pm and they are not here at all. Busy, maybe. Then, after Maghrib, my mom and I went to the AEON Big and PKNS Complex to buy telekung and the accessories for our phone. My mom just bought the cover for her phone while I bought the cover, the earphone, the USD wire and the power bank. This is my third time buying the same power bank, when I'm not the one that make the previous power bank gone. We went home and I straight to finish my household works, drying the clothes, cleaning the kitchen, collecting the cat's poo and throwing the garbages into its place. Almost midnight, and I am successfully making all the works done. Tonight is the first night of us, just my parents and me. Quite? Absolutely. But we have each other. And we will be just fine.
